[SuSE Linux] Network Problems with a Linux Cluster
Hi all, I'm using a 4 PII Linux cluster. One of the nodes has two NICs, in order to allow connectivity with the outside. Almost everything is fine (the static routing table selects one NIC or another, and telnet, http, ftp, and all the normal protocols between this node and the outside work fine), but I'm having problems with X connections. If, when connected to the cluster, telnetting, for example, I set the DISPLAY variable and try to open any window in the client, everything works for the first seconds, but after that, it hangs, and the "route" command takes a lot of time to produce the routing table, that has been altered (the gateway -because on the LAN one of the NICs is connected to there is one- is no longer there). The "routed" daemon is not running, so the routing table shouldn't be altered. Maybe there is some kind of connection timeout, but I don't know exactly where or why. Anyone with the same problem? -- _______________________________________________________________________________ David Espadas Valladares Dpto. de Arquitectura de Computadores y Automatica Facultad de CC.
