I looked about for a while but can't seem to find any add-on labels for Oo, looking for Cd Labels, most I see are for the jewel case, need a layout for the disk label as I have a stack of them left over and want to use them. I know I am probably just looking in the wrong spot. Thanks, Mike -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I found what I needed there, actually the exact label I had was there. Thanks for the great info. Mike -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

As long as we're this far off topic already, I'll venture a question as well. I needed to print an envelope yesterday for the first time with OpenOffice Writer, and I wasted about ten envelopes before I got one that's acceptable (although it still really needs the addresses moved over a bit). With Microsoft Office, envelope printing is based on the printer type, as specified by the driver that's in use. When I select my LaserJet 1022, for example, or my DeskJet 712C, I don't need to specify each time all the details of the envelope feed, whether it inserts on the left, right, or center, or how much offset from the edge is needed. It already knows those things, because it knows what printer I'm using. Will I need to manually change and test the spacing and alignment every time I print an envelope on a particular printer, or will Writer remember that information for that printer after I've finally gotten it working right? If it will remember the configurations, then it's worth getting it right once for each printer I use. If I need to specify the details every time I print an envelope, then it would be worth booting that (dual-boot) machine into XP-Pro whenever I need a word processor. Ouch. What I do is test with plain paper. If need be, I cut it to size with scissors. I have been burned your way before with every single word processing program I tried since Wordstar in the eighties. And after I got plain paper "faked envelopes" working, the real one failed in unexpected ways, like the... what do you call it... the part of the envelope that does the closing, sticking in the printer and breaking, or the envelope twisting or jamming sideways in the tractor mechanism. It wouldn't be a bad idea to cross your fingers or touch wood or wear a penguin tee shirt :-P

The trick I use is to save a document named "envelope" with the sizes and tricks (and notes in yellow explaining it all), and every time I need to print an envelope I open it, modify, and save with another name (envelope - somebody address) or discard it. Maybe I should learn to save as a template. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. The simple answer is to just use label stickers. Personally, I like the ones that are in a single column, with a backing that is fan-fold and tractor feed (the little holes on the side for old style printer sprockets to engage and pull the backing material through the printer). Or you can get the more modern ones which have 24-30 labels on a page ... typically 3 columns and 8 to 10 rows. Both variants are made for reliable printing without any twisting or other feeding issues of the printed material. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Check out 'Insert' 'Envelope' from the toolbar, looks like once it's setup and you use the same envelope you should be good. I just don't do many envelopes. Mike -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

There exist packages with these templates: OpenOffice_org-templates-labels-a4 OpenOffice_org-templates-labels-letter They are available in the openSUSE 10.3 network installation source by default. They are also available for older products via the Build Service. You might find them via: http://software.opensuse.org/search If you install the package and restart OOo, they should be available via: File/Templates and Documents/Templates/... -- Best Regards, Petr Mladek software developer --------------------------------------------------------------------- SUSE LINUX, s. r. o. e-mail: pmladek@suse.cz Lihovarská 1060/12 tel: +420 284 028 952 190 00 Prague 9 fax: +420 284 028 951 Czech Republic http://www.suse.cz/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
