Some older motherboards have a 32G limit although they don't advertize this. You should check for a BIOS upgrade for your motherboard and I would STRONGLY suggest not using ontrack software because it's just not compatible with Linux.
Thanks a lot Ben, I will not use ontrack software. But, I don't believe that the problem is in BIOS because my bios detect the HD (40892 GB, 4962 cilinders ,255 heads and 63 sectors) but can't boot it ! Where would be the problem ??? I upgraded my bios to 1013 on july-setember. Thanks! -- Simeó Reig Barcelona (Spain)

Hi friends, I have upgraded my Hd on an asus p2b-F from 8Gb to 40 GB from samsung.Well, after install SuSE 6.4 I can boot from a floppy and the BIOS see my new HD but can't boot from them. BIOS says nothing, the hd light is on but nothing happens. what I must do, upgrade BIOS ? Ontrack software ? or is a 'linux' solution ???
What version of the bios are you using? I'm fairly sure Asus released an updated bios for large drives. Asus is pretty good about bios upgrades. Nick
