Installing Suse 10 on multiple machines with same selection of software
Hi I would like to install Suse 10 on about ten machines with only certain software. I would like to know if one can set a new softwre configuration so that it shows up in the installer. That way I can select that profile without having to manually select software for each machine. Is this possible? Can someone direct me to where I can find out more of how to do it? Thank you in advance. -H

Works OK for me, but there is still some work on the autoinstaller todo (root-user, LVM), ...). Combined with pxe, you can perform turbo-installations. Be sure to read both the manual: www.suse.de/~nashif/autoinstallation/9.1/autoyast.pdf and scroll the list at lists.suse.com/archive/suse-autoinstall/ Hans

I believe AutoYast will do that, though I've never used it. You might also try cloning the drive.

Within YaST Software Management, you can export your package selection to a file on floppy or hard disk. Then when installing on another machine you can have it read the selection off the floppy. YaST --> Software Management --> Etc.v --> Selections --> Save Selection / Load Selection. Jason Joines =================================
