I can burn mp3's to a CD just fine in k3b for KDE 3 (burn to a cd as in make it as an audio cd not data). However, I installed kde4-k3b and it yells @ me about the MAD codecs again, however, k3b for KDE 3 still burns fine. So, do I have to get different MAD codecs for KDE4-k3b, or are they maybe not yet available? Any help appreciated.
Don't know about the codecs, but k3b for kde4 is still in alpha, so expect things to be broken. If you're happy being an alpha-tester, then have a look in bugs.kde.org to see if it's a known bug or something unique, but don't be too surprised if Seb isn't interested in bug reports until he goes beta. I guess, it is something unusual to hear :-) After above sentence, some people will not report any bugs before beta. Which, in reality, will never come because even if owner will see that there is no new bugs and declare beta, alpha bugs will be in there. I guess that something like that happened to early KDE4. Developer can be busy to answer on all the bugs, but he got to see reports to know that something is wrong. He can ask question later, or close bug as fixed in version x.x.x, notifying users that they have to update software. I don't know right now who is Seb, but I'm sure that if I would be developer, I would like to have users feedback in bugzilla. -- Regards, Rajko http://en.opensuse.org/Portal needs helpful hands. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Well, I was somewhat surprised to see someone had a package, because as far as I'm aware he hasn't even released an offical alpha yet, I just assumed I had missed an announcement somewhere. I believe the port to Qt4 isn't even complete yet. So hence my saying he may not pay attention to bug reports as it may be in too broken a state for bug reports to make much sense. I do understand that, but many will interpret that as confirmation of stories that KDE developers don't listen users. zypper if kde4-k3b Repository: KDE4:/Factory:/Extra-Apps/openSUSE_11.0 Name: kde4-k3b Version: 4.1.0.svn837567-1.7 ... The kde4-k3b is released and it is time to start filing bug reports :-) For instance, "create iso only" crashed kde4-k3b, while kde3 did the job. -- Regards, Rajko http://en.opensuse.org/Portal needs helpful hands. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Just because a distro has packaged it from svn doesn't mean that the developer has released it :-) John.
