I found through alot of hunting that the reason that I had problems installinb jbuilder and using appletviewer is that I had my LANG variable set to en . Setting this to either POSIX or C eliminated the problem. http://www.mail-archive.com/java-linux%40java.blackdown.org/msg11934.html I was just curious of how Suse gets the locale datat and from where when I am running a KDE session. It seems that there are more than one location for locales. Any and all help is appreciated. thanks Jim Ramberg -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq

Have a look in /etc/rc.config. Relevant variables are: RC_LC_ALL, RC_LC_MESSAGES, RC_LC_CTYPE, RC_LC_COLLATE, RC_LC_TIME, RC_LC_NUMERIC, RC_LC_MONETARY, ROOT_USES_LANG They all come with a comment about their function.
