Greetings, It's been a while since I have worked on any servers...almost 6 months or more now. I am working on setting up DNS on a small server tonight but I haven't had a chance to really research any recent bugs or security issues in the last six months. Anywho....I have SuSE 7.2 set up on the machine and I am setting up the default Bind 8 as my name server...anything I should know? should I go for Bind 9? So what's the haps people. :) Brian D.

My 2p worth: Go for Bind9. Better maintained, more secure, more features. You need to explicitely define $TTL=<value> in each Zonefile. . Otherwise migration should not be a problem. Bind) is a bit pickier then , when comes to mistakes. There you are.
