Hello I can't install Win4Lin with SuSE7.2, patched the kernel from SuSE (2.4.4 )which comes by default. Compiled succesfully. When installing win4lin at stage 2 of its installation, tells me that my kernel does not support win4lin or the software is wrong (i think that's true). Does someone have already installed win4lin v3.0 on SuSE 7.2, some clue and/or recomendation?? Greetings Oxiel.
Hi, I am using SuSE 7.1 with 2.2.19 kernel and had similiar problems with the Netraverse Installer. I suggest that firstly you check to see if the kernel does have the hooks installed and working. grep mki_install_hook /proc/ksyms It should print back a line something like: c010be50 mki_install_hook If that works your kernel is working. Check to see if the installer has created a license file in /var/win4lin/install/license.lic Also I think that the Win4Lin.rpm file will be located at /var/win4lin/installer_tmp/ If not you will have to locate it at the Netraverse site. Install the win4lin.rpm using yast. Then use winsetup as root to install the Windows CD. Then use winsetup as <user> to install windows. Best of luck Regards, Graham Smith ------------------------------ On Sun, 2 Sep 2001 09:06, Oxiel wrote:
