Thanks, Dave!! All I had to do was to replace the 1 instance of "nv" in XFConfig to nvidia and ran SAX2 again, setting the 3D. Strange that a script to do the driver install couldn't have done that and eliniated all the grief.
You can either edit the file _or_ run SaX2 again after installing the script. When you check "Enable 3D" in SaX2, all it does is switch to ``nvidia'' like you can do by hand. Anyway, I'm just glad you got it working.
Ah.....NOT so. NOT here anyway. I tried that - "Enable 3D" in SaX2 and it wouldn't work.
I'm curious about something. When you post to the list, you break the thread you're to which you're responding. For instance, this nVidia driver thread is now in 3 "clumps" of messages in the mailbox in which I store my list messages. Do you see this as well, or is this something that's only happening to me?
I don't see it - SORRY.
I brought this sort of thing up ages ago when I first joined the list, and someone said that he thought it was due to people using Outlook. Out
Wash yer mouth out of SaniFlush!!!!!!! "LookOut" is NOT, nor has it ever been an option for me!!!!!!!!
of curiousity, I did a check on message headers, and found that no one (within my collection) of list messages) uses Outlook. I see that you're using KMail. However, so are many other people on the list, but when they post, they don't break the thread.
Do you know any reason why your config might cause this behavior?
NO idea. I don't see it, and this is the first I've heard of it. IF there's a problem in the config, I'm not aware of what "it" would be. Fred -- "...Linux, MS-DOS, and Windows XP (also known as the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly)."

Hmmmm.....I also have threads broken into "clumps". Not just this nvidia thread but others also at times. I use kmail. Wonder if it is our machines? Bob S.
