[opensuse] email client - very specific requirement
Hello: Is there any GUI email client which doesn't allow drag and drop between mailboxes/folders? Background: I have a user who needs to access different IMAP mailboxes at different providers. He's been using seamonkey mail client for >10 years. He is good in reading and writing messages but a little bit clumsy and occasionally drags/drops messages or complete folders from one folder to another one or from one mailbox to another one without even noticing it and messing up things. In my opinion this could only be prevented if draggin/dropping was disabled in the client. Is it possible to disable drag and drop in semaonkey mail? (Even if it requires rebulding). Or is there any GUI email client which doesn't offer drag and drop in its user interface? Thanks in advance, Istvan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Drag 'n drop or not, if they can move messages they can still do that. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Not that bad. It is an accident, not intentional. It happens just by moving the mouse with the button pressed. Happens to more than just one person. I have moved single messages that way ocassionally (touchpad), but I notice. The hard thing is finding that email again a second later, happens too fast. An undo option would be nice. Maybe an imap server that does not allow creation of folders? - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R. Yes. The user even don't realize he has moved messages. I realize it when I can't find them where they've been. Thanks, Istvan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

You could copy all incoming email to another folder, without filtering, out of the scope of the client. I do. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.3 x86_64 "Malachite" at Telcontar)

I'd very much like to know too. Absent that, it might help in mouse settings to maximize drag start distance. Here it can only be increased to 20px, far short of ideal IMO. Futzing with drag start time might help too. -- "Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Whatever else you get, get wisdom." Proverbs 4:7 (New Living Translation) Team OS/2 ** Reg. Do these messages survive dropping on to another server? I did some testing between a server I run in house and Gmail and dropping Gmail on to my in house imap server new mail folder immediately triggered my spamassassin which sent them to spam. I moved some TO Gmail, and never could find them again. I've not tried dragging folders across servers. -- Sent from my Android phone with K-9 Mail. Yes, exactly. They are copied from one server to the other server and removed from the original server. Maybe creating separate seamonkey profiles with only one mailbox/profile could prevent this. Might be cumbersome to use it, and would not prevent moving files within the same server.

I don't know anything about gmail, never used it. I don't have my own mail server either. Thanks, Istvan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
