Please Help - Postfix & SuSE 9.0 - mail forwarding loop
Hello everybody. Please, help me, i don't understand what i'm doing wrong? I've read all docs, searched throught all mail lists here at suse-linux-e and postfix's mail lists; I've already applied the tips found there, but the problem continues. Mail gets bounced. (kernel.com is only to test in my network, i'll change it, promise) /var/log/mail says: Jan 28 11:50:38 oxiel postfix/local[9026]: 79F7D2B280: to=<quique@kernel.com>, relay=local, delay=0, status=bounced (mail forwarding loop for quique@kernel.com) SuSE 9.0 postfix-2.0.14-41 amavisd-new-20030616p5-23 perl-spamassassin-2.55-75 spamassassin-2.55-75 rcamavis, rcspamd running. Hello everybody.
Please, help me, i don't understand what i'm doing wrong?
You're trying to be smarter then the authors of the software you're using.
I've read all docs, searched throught all mail lists here at suse-linux-e and postfix's mail lists; I've already applied the tips found there, but the problem continues.
Obviously you haven't read the docs at the amavisd-new site, explaining the setup of amavisd-new with SA and Postfix. http://www.ijs.si/software/amavisd/README.postfix
Only configured files located at /etc/sysconfig/ and added /etc/procmailrc with SuSE's recommendation:
That's your problem: each time you send the mail through procmail, let it be checked by SA, and re-send it through procmail again. Procmail is first of all very expensive, and will slow the mailserver like a brick on a snail, and 2nd you don't need it as Postfix is perfectly able to speak to amavisd-new by itself. Read the README above, and configure your system accordingly. It will work, and without the hassle you have now. Theo -- Theo v.
