Silly Postfix/MySQL/Cyrus questions

Also, I had Cyrus installed on my box. When I enabled the POP and IMAP services, YaST2 installed imap. Do I now have two different IMAP servers installed? No, I had to compile Postfix myself. It's not difficult. But I believe someone made RPM's and published them somewhere, but I don't remember where. Maybe search the archives. -- Met vriendelijke groeten, Koenraad Lelong R&D Manager ACE electronics n.v.
I thought 9.0 had Postfix installed by default? Am I wrong? On 06-May-04 Koenraad Lelong wrote:

Postfix, mysql, and cyrus, all are packages with yast as default with SUSE. -- http://www.fastmail.fm - And now for something completely different

Yes, Postfix is installed by default, but that Postfix has no support for MySQL (there's a command to verify this : postconf -m, which shows all backends). Like I said, if you searched the archives you would have found at least: http://www.norrbring.biz/SuSE/ (thanks Anders !) which makes available a Postfix-build with MySQL compiled in. But again, it's not difficult to compile your own Postfix, as long as you see that all needed devel-packages are installed. Of course then your RPM-database is not up to date. -- Met vriendelijke groeten, Koenraad Lelong R&D Manager ACE electronics n.v.

Unless you utilize 'checkinstall'. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711
