For whatever reason he lent one of his "friends" his win2000 server who was going to "tweak" it a bit; he got it back yesterday with win2000 replaced by the latest release of Mandrake. Well, he said, I might as well leave it a Linux box if I can just get two pieces of software.

So here is my chance to convert him, except that as I DON'T do any gaming, I haven't a clue as to what to tell him. Here is what he is looking for:

1) a game server program to host internet or shared games - like fsgs on on winderz and

2) voice over IP server or hosting software for playing games - like battlecom in winderz.

Found some on Sourceforge, try searching there for Voice over IP. Although me thinks you will need to help him install it. Although soem seem to have never released anything. Try looking for the Loki Games newsgroups too: http://www.lokigames.com/support/ Loki Misc may help. Another way is to go to www.linuxgames.com and perhaps send them a message asking for help in this, perhaps someone will know.
