I'm aware of the HTML manual available, but is there any kind of PDF/OO document that you can use to print a copy of the manual? I'm looking for something I could leaf through while not in front of a PC. Steve

Well, us$90 will get you a beautiful printed copy of the User's Manual and the Admin Manual. pipe to html2ps|ps2pdf will get you a pdf open the html in OOo and save as pdf netscape/opera/mozilla/firefox/konqueror all have printing capabilities the first option is the best, or I mis-read your question. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/photos

I guess Patrick doesn't know that the pdf version can be found on the DVD and can be installed. I don't think it is installed by default, but I just took a look and it is there. There might even be an update for it via you. It's suselinux-adminguide_en-pdf-9.1.0.3-3.i586.rpm Mike -- Powered by SuSE 9.1 Kernel 2.6.4 KDE 3.2.1 Kmail 1.6.2 For SuSE Mondo/Mindi backup support go to http://www.mikenjane.net/~mike 6:39pm up 8 days 1:43, 4 users, load average: 1.21, 1.41, 1.31

A paper manual comes with the boxed set.
A paper manual comes with the boxed set.
You know, the very first thing I want to spout off is "No sh!t!" -- I asked for a >>>PRINTABLE<<< copy. I didn't think I'd need to specify that a) I'm currently trying to evaluate about 4 different distros to decide which to attempt to rollout to replace Windoze machines. b) Others have PDF docs, c) Limited budget - if the boss isn't going to give me $80-$90 for "test" copies, I simply >can't< afford to purchase it myself (baby on the way, trying to save up for that - I don't think my wife would appreciate me spending the crib money on software at this moment), d) if I decide on Fedora/Mandrake/Debian/et al, I don't need another unused box sitting on my shelf. I do appreciate most of the help people give here, but sometimes people try to read a little too much into the request. I asked for printable docs, I knew the HTML manual was there, but can't stand that format for digesting anything...

"mike" answered your mail almost 5 hours before you sent this. Wasn't that enough?

And you were provided *several* options. Throw away what you didn't like or deem acceptable and drive on, or quit asking for people to donate their time assisting you. You are *very* welcome. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/photos
