[SLE] interesting "problem"
I had two konqueror instances running, one local to the machine, one running on another via ssh -X. Without thinking I right-clicked on a file on the remote Konq, then copy, then moved to the local Konq and did a paste ... not much happened :-) Mostly of out curiosity I was wondering if I should expect it to work at all? /Per Jessen, Zürich -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

I have often used Konqueror to copy files to or from another system. In fact, you can use the fish protocol to access other systems, without specifically starting ssh. However, in your case, I suspect Konqueror was running on the remote system, not a local copy accessing a remote system. -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

Quite so, that is exactly how it was running. /Per Jessen, Zürich -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

Thanks for mentioning fish - I was unaware of that option. Haha, Jerry - I just spend far too much time on the command-line, so I'm certain the fish: protocol for Konq is only one of many GUI-side things I'm unaware of .... /Per Jessen, Zürich -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

Fair enough, but fish is really really usefull, try: fish://192.168.154.100/home/bla fish://jerry@office.your.company.com Also, you can right mouse click, open with kwrite, it downloads to a temporary file, edits it, and when you close the editor (or save the file), copies it back! Really really nifty for quickly modifying a file on a remote machine... The only thing down work is "directory Tree" on the left, and the silly "Home" key which takes you to your home, not the home of the ssh connection... have fun... -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

Hi, I just tried this, seems to work, almost... I make my ssh server accessable only with keys. How do I configure the use of my private keys ? I found in "configure Konquerer" the entry "Cryptography" (translations from Dutch !), I tried "Authenficate" and making a new host, but there is no certificate. Then I tried to import a certificate but this fails on the passphase. I made those keys with PuttyGen (Windows), are those useable for Konquerer ?
