RE: [SLE] Kde 3.0.1 - When is going to be available ?
===== Original Message From suse_ground_zero
===== Hey ! I think that un update for kde 3.0.1 should be available thru Yast Online Update respecting the tradition of the 'optional' kde 2.2.2 update from 2.2.0 package for version 7.3. If this is not in your plans right now ...
You can use the Advanced Package Tool (APT) for SuSE. More info at http://linux01.gwdg.de/apt4rpm or search the suse-linux-e list. Many people are already happily using this service :) -- Richard Bos please
release a tutorial or an how-to make this update manually.

No way ! I am not gonna use this ... first <snip> This document intends to provide the user with a good understanding of the workings of the Debian package management utility, APT. Its goal is to make life easier for new Debian users and to help those who wish to deepen their understanding of the administration of this system. It was created for the Debian project in order to help improve the support available for users of this distribution. </snip> and I dont believe in the unity and in the monovalence of ONE linux ... I like different 'flavours' of linux, including debian. Cross 'flavours' applications doesn't work for me. So I am expected to use what I have allready installed and well running. I am not so good at ./configure|make|make install, but I am not ready to give root rights to an application outside SuSE 8.0... maybe this is the cause SuSE GMBH doesn't include an apt-packkage in SuSE 8.0. Sorry ... in fact my messages was addresed to some SuSE official here on the list.
