I used APT to upgrade my version of Gnumeric. There were two gnumeric packages listed. One was simply Gnumeric. The other was Gnumeric2. Which of those is the one I want? Don Henson

gnumeric without '2' is from usr-local-bin repository. If you want to have the latest and the best, this is recommended. The same about abiword. ain

Thanks. I figured gnumeric2 was the later one. I also tried to install the latest version of abiword but all I could find were tools & plug-ins. Where would I look for abiword itself? Don Henson

It's in APT as abiword -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 9.0). GNOME updates for SuSE: http://www.usr-local-bin.org

The version 'gnumeric' in usr-local-bin is an update to, and obsoletes gnumeric2 - I don't know why SuSE chose to call Gnumeric and Abiword gnumeric2 and abiword2 respectively in 9.0 when they don't include the old GNOME1 versions.
