Hi, When started from my root account, tkppp has no problem connecting to my isp. However, initially tkppp could connet to my isp if started from my user account. I would get a message from pppd stating that permission was denied. Therefore, I set the permission to pppd as follow: -rwsr-xr-x 1 root dialout 83856 Nov 30 07:14 /usr/sbin/pppd* Now connet but strangely enough tkppp doesn't realize that it has connected. This problem only occurs from within my user account. Should I change the permissions associate with tkppp? Here is the current status of the before spec ified permissions: -rwsr-xr-x 1 root root 14653 Dec 1 02:58 /usr/X11R6/bin/tkppp* Is it wrong to set the uid bit for tkppp? ---------------------------------- E-Mail: Scott Gray <1sgray@preferred.com> Date: 05-Feb-98 Time: 10:55:44 Linux version 2.0.33 ---------------------------------- -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
