I have also had frequent sound issues with my sound. Is your card running through ALSA? If yes - open up Alsamixer and bring the MAster, PCI and Surround volumes up to around 74ish - this made mine work (the 74 setting is cos it sounded better) If that doesn't work, try changing the driver your system is using - like try using aRTS or OSS - pretty much you have to play around with it untill it works. Hope this helps you... somehow.

I installed SuSE 8.2 on my desktop that has a SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 PCI card. It appears to be detected correctly (using the EMU10k1 driver) and the mixer settings are unmuted and at reasonable settings, however I'm not getting any sound. Is this a frequent issue and if so, are there some other things I should check?
