I am trying to do a ftp install. I did the following: 1. Created a boot CD 2. Reboot into menu 3. Select manual install 4. Type in linux install=ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/current in the option box. 5. Hit enter. After answering English, etc. I load the nic driver (Tulip) successfuly. 6. I start the install. Give the address of my router/nameserver 192.168.0.1, answer the default to the next two questions, but it can't ever conncet to the ftp server. What am I doing wrong? TIA Harry G

I installed 9.0 x86_64 by ftp earlier in the week, but I've seen problems getting on to suse.com via ftp most of the week and even for the last half an hour, it's still saying "Beginning FTP transaction", stopped that and tried the command line, it looks like they have problems. # ftp ftp.suse.com Connected to ftp.suse.com. We aren't accepting new connections right now or there are too many connections from your IP address. Please use a mirror: http://www.suse.de/en/support/download/ftp/int_mirrors.html. If you feel this is in error please contact ftpadmin@suse.com Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce .... Hamradio G3VBV and keen Flyer Linux Only Shop.
