[opensuse] Keyboard shortcuts? Where did they go?
Back in the day, (OpenSUSE 10.3?) there was a useful keyboard shortcuts tool which had a comprehensive set of options that could be assigned a shortcut. Specifically, you could assign your virtual desktops to "CTRL-F1", "CTRL-F2", etc for quick switching. The OpenSUSE 11.1 implementation of this tool can be found in the Control Center but it has been "dumbed down" so significantly that it no longer has any they options I need. Can anyone help me out finding this? -- John Lange http://www.johnlange.ca -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I had a bit of an epiphany so I'm going to answer my own question. When you enable desktop effects, the "rotate cube" plugin over-rides the gnome keyboard shortcuts and that is why they no longer show up in "keyboard shortcuts" of the "Control Center". This is counter-intuitive to say the least but at least there is a logical explanation. So for anyone stumbling on this thread; if you have "Desktop Effects" activated, you can change keyboard shortcuts by going to: Computer (start menu) -> More Applications Click on "CompizConfig Settings Manager" Click on "Rotate Cube" Click on "Rotate Cube to Face" And there you can see how to set the keyboard shortcuts to rotate the cube... -- John Lange http://www.johnlange.ca -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
