[opensuse] Problem with acroread 9.4.7-3.7.1 and libpango
Hello, I tried to install acroread 9.4.7-3.7.1 on my OpenSuSE 12.1 64Bit and get the following error message: "nothing provides libpango-1.0.so.0 needed by acroread..." See here: http://www.imagebanana.com/view/qfa95ncy/acroreadlibpangoproblem.png libpango is installed but as libpango-1_0-0 Does the underscore make a problem here? How can I install acroread on my OpenSuSE 12.1 64bit? Thanks in advance. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
I have acroread installed and working, openSuSE 12.1 x86_64. Acroread is a 32 bit application, have you installed libpango-1_0-0-32bit?. Francesco On Sun, Apr 1, 2012 at 6:09 PM, Peter Maffter <petermaffter@yahoo.de> wrote:

I've installed now: pango-tools-32bit-1.30.0-1.3.x86_64.rpm libcairo2-32bit-1.12.0-2.1.x86_64.rpm libpango-1_0-0-32bit-1.30.0-1.3.x86_64.rpm to fullfil all dependencies. It is bad that these are not included in the downloaded DVD of 12.1 64Bit. Afterwards I was able to install acroread 9.4.7-3.7.1 . It returns nothing. How can a *.rpm be "incomplete"? Aren't there checks for that? Checksums? I used the corresponding rpm from the download DVD of 12.1! Be aware that it is quite difficult to do that in some webmailers. I just found some option for this but other may not find such options in other webmailers. In this context, incomplete does not mean what you think ;) The package has correct integrity but the ABI of the library may be incomplete. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

The package has correct integrity but the ABI of the library may be incomplete.
Which means it was broken on the downloaded 12.1 ISO. Very nice. :-/ Is there some newer 12.1 download ISO which fixes all these bugs and includes all those missing rpms (e.g. xv, KTrafficAnalyzer, kdirstat et al ). -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

No, it means there is something wrong in your particular setup or in a the acroread package. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

It's not incomplete, it's just too old for that version of pango Anders -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Where did you get these? They are not 12.1 packages. The openSUSE 12.1 version of pango is 1.29 and it does not require that mutex symbol. I do not remember where I found them. Possible these are Factory files which slipped in. Anyhow: I changed these to the files from opensuse/distribution/12.1/repo/oss/suse/x86_64/ and now acroread 9.5.1 comes up. Thanks Anders!
