Syntekne, the average linux installation is about 500-800mbs. i hope your laptop's hd is at least a gig, so, you can move around easily. now, if you don't install the following: X (or any of the X programs), gcc (or any programming languages), kde, gnome or any window managers, samba, apache you gonna be fine but then, you'll have just a dumb terminal. :) here's my suggestion. remove anything unessecary(sp). remove all the above, then when you get a lean installation with just linux and bash running on it, start adding slowly what you *would* like to have, like X and KDE. On my Olivetti echo p75, i'm running RedHell 7.1, i think, and i've removed besides mpg123 and cdplay. Thing is, i use my laptop for all sorts of work on the road, or when I'm on guard duty, so, i'll have something to code/do while being bored to death! :) (Hurray for the greek aiforce) George Marselis -><- Drafted Sargent, Hellinic Airforce, Software Engineer/Analyst (I didn't wanna go, they made me to...)
