How to transfer kde-desktop settings: part 2
Dear Suse Users: I am trying to transfer my Suse 9.2 kde desktop setting to 9.3. (See my other post "How to transfer kde-desktop settings?") I thought it may be easier setting up the kde-desktop by hand from scratch in 9.3. I did this: Installed 9.3 onto a separate partiton and set up my kde-desktop. Deleted the .kde .kderc .skel and Desktop folders from my _92_ home partition. Copied the .kde .kderc .skel and Desktop folders _from_ 93 home _to_ the 92 home partiton. Changed the 93 fstab so that it would mount 92 home partiton under / home in 93. After starting and logging in 93 my desktop looks different from that when the original 93 home was mounted. 1. The icons look different (eg trash icon) 2. The startup menu contains entries from the older 92 startup menu; these entries were not in the 93's start menu. How can this happen? I have completely replaced the directories mentioned above on the old 92 home partition. Thanks, IG ____________________________________________________________________________ Go.hu - az [origo] és a Vista közös diszkont utazási irodája, árgaranciával. Elvágyódik? www.go.hu
