Turn on sendmail. It helps a lot! ;) Seriously, though. su to root, and do 'rcsendmail start'. If you want the change to be effective next time you reboot (i.e. assuming it works), go into yast --> system administration --> Change config file, do a search (F4) for sendmail, and find the entry for 'START SENDMAIL' set that to 'yes'.
