Mikeh Damm, I forgot. You might have tried the same thing in your .bash_profile. export HOSTNAME= export MAILUSER= You have to do lines like that for Qmail to work. I tried something different with smail and finally got things to work . . . . I made a file called /etc/smail/config and put these things in it:
from_field = mhostetl@cse.unl.edu
hostname = ravine.binary.net
Now the name resolves correctly . . . neat, huh??
