Hi, I posted this once before and I guess no one was able to answer this or have an idea on what the problem might be. I am using Suse 10.1 with Gnome and Firefox instantly closes when I try to either use the print button or the following in the File menu: Page Setup, Print Preview, Print... I tailed the messages file and nothing is logged there when it happens on any of the selections. Has anyone else had any problems with this or know where I might find the logging information to narrow this down beyond the /var/logs/messages file? Thanks in advance

Thanks Masaru, I launched from the terminal while root and it ran fine. I switched back to my user profile and got the following: /usr/bin/firefox: line 159: 8589 Segmentation fault $AOSS $MOZ_PROGRAM $@ Does anyone know what this may mean? I am not technical enough to troubleshoot this further. Thanks in advance everyone...

man strace do that before you launch firefox from the konsole. It will be a large log but at least you can examine the details. BTW FF is up to 1.5.0.4 so if you have an older you might try the new one. CWSIV

Thanks for the suggestion. All I could make of the strace was several entries where FF was trying to find some files in the .mozilla/firefox/ folder. I could not really make heads or tales of the rest. Tried updating to 1.5.0.4. It did not work. I think my profiles for FF were somehow corrupted. Against better judgment I renamed the .mozilla folder and launched FF. This created a new .mozilla folder and now everything works. Had to re-import my bookmarks and reinstall a couple of extensions, but other than that, everything is well now. Probably not the best solution and could have been prone to a major problem, but I guess I dodged a bullet.... Thanks everyone!

FF is now to RC3 2.0.1 :-) . Running it now, and it's OK. BTW, there is a new extension available called DownThemAll which is a download manager that gets "built in" into Firefox - ie, does not use a 3rd party download accelerator - and now has the restart ability. Right click on a file or page etc and select dTa. Cheers. -- "It is well known that among the blind, the one-eyed man is king".
