i have a 28.8 connection to the internet and it is up for a maximum of 8
hours at a time. is it possible to update my system via the internet
thru suse' ftp and yast? or would it lose the connection halfway
through, and then have to start over at the beginning?

If the reason for doing this is to save cost, then I would suggest that you get a CD from places like www.cheapbytes.com and do the installation that way. From my own experience, doing installation via NFS mounts is not very reliable, unless it is a local network installation. Regards, C. J. Tan On Tue, 16 Jun 1998, Aaron Seelye wrote:
