RE: [opensuse] Samba share to AD for authentication

Hello,
I setup a Suse box to join an AD domain and set up a share on the Suse box, but I am not sure how to have the samba share authenticate users via the AD.
Does anyone have any pointers on how to do this?
Don't know if it is the right way, but I setup all my mappings to this: smb://AD_Domain\user_name@server/share For example on of my bookmarks in Konqueror is: smb://vims%5Ce515421@sfile2/TechServices/ (The %5C is equal to a backslash.) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That looks interesting. Do you set that up in smb.conf or somewhere else? Thank you, James -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I actually have it as bookmarks in Konqueror. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hi list, - but as "bookmarks in Konqueror" one cannot access/edit a file directly from within, say, OpenOffice. You'd have to associate an -odt file with OO and hence doubleclick etc., to launch OO with a particular file as an argument? No, probably not. I'll try it out. I've almost rarely open a file from within OOo or anohter app. Since there are so many variations on the file open/save dialog boxes I get frustrated and just prefer to use konqueror. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
