[opensuse] IEEE 1588 PTP Grandmaster Clock
Has anyone set up an openSUSE system to be a IEEE 1588 PTP Grandmaster Clock? A nice description of why one might want this can be found here: https://eu.ptgrey.com/1588 We have our in-vehicle systems set up to be Stratum 1 NTP servers (a high-end GPS with a serial port PPS is our Stratum 0 time source) for syncing time with cooperating devices. Unfortunately, all devices do not speak NTP. Some use PTP (IEEE 1588). There is an openSUSE package for this type of thing: https://software.opensuse.org/package/ptpd But details are sketchy. So I am curious if anyone is using this package and how well it is working. -- Roger Oberholtzer -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
