See https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=551333 I am not sure but maybe this has been fixed as I don't remember doing this fix and my copy of TB (3.0.0-12.2 on oS11.2) is now working fine. A follow-up to the above. I installed 11.2 last night on my wife's computer. A few minutes ago she clicked on a link in TB and got nowhere. So, I must have put thru the above 'fix' on my computer for my TB to bring up Firefox. If you want another reference to the above problem search in the opensuse(-help) archives for a post by olit@gmx.at dated 10 November with subject, "A "warning" about Thunderbird (3.0) in 11.2" where the code to fix the problem is given. Funny. Can this be related to having kde, perhaps? I ask because I have to 11.2 installs and in both it works fine; but I use gnome on both.

Ah.. yes, just what I thought, then :-) They should find a way for programs to integrate with whatever desktop the users has, automatically. We (users) should not have to care about that. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. A follow-up to my (above) follow-up. I thought I had done the correct fix to my wife's computer last night but found that I hadn't. I tried to remember what exactly I did to my system - but couldn't remember :-( . So, what I did a few minutes ago was to copy across to my wife's system 2 files in /usr/share/kde4/env which fixed the problem re TB for her. If you would like a copy of these 2 small files then let me know and I can e-mail them to you.
