Haia I'm very happy using KDE but I want to try Gnome , Windowmaker, Blackbox etc. I used to get the option to choose on the Log-in screen. But for some reason those options have disappeared and I only get three options and none of them are those window managers. ( and yes they are installed). Any idea what I can do to get them back? Using 8.2. -- Greetings from /bill at 169 west , 19 south. Disclaimer: Any errors in spelling, tact, or fact are transmission errors."

Don't know why they disappeared, but it's easy enough to add them back. KDE Control Center -> System Administration -> Login Manager -> Sessions. Go into admin mode, and add in the ones you have/want to try under Session Types. Note that the entries are case sensitive (hint: take a look at /usr/X11R6/bin/wmlist). Log out, and they should be in KDM's chhoser. -- Homepage http://scott.exti.net XFce desktop environment http://www.xfce.org Goodies for the XFce desktop http://xfce-goodies.berlios.de

Hi Scott Thanks for answering

How do you add on more WM.? There are only three:Failsafe.Kde and default. When I click on ""add"" only one of those three is added on

Under New type just type in the name listed from the command below:
Note that the entries are case sensitive (hint: take a look at /usr/X11R6/bin/wmlist).
There is no /wmlist
Just type wmlist from the commandline. Should turn up like this, or something like it: kde windowmaker blackbox fvwm2 mwm twm On my box I have Ximian Gnome installed too, doesn't show up, but it does load when selected. Hope that helps, Matt
