[opensuse] xorg problem?
Hello, since yesterday or so, my xrandr script do not work anymore. Was there some update that could explain that? the script is: xrandr --newmode "1920x1080_60.00" 173.00 1920 2048 2248 2576 1080 1083 1088 1120 -hsync +vsync xrandr --addmode VIRTUAL1 1920x1080_60.00 #xrandr --fb 1920x1080_60.00 --dpi 96 --output eDP-1 --pos 0x0 --scale-from 1920x1080 --same-as VIRTUAL1 xrandr --fb 1920x1080_60.00 --dpi 96 --output eDP1 --pos 0x0 --scale-from 1920x1080 --same-as VIRTUAL1 used to give me full HD 1920x10810 display on 1366x768 15.5" display. Only the last line stopped working, letting me with my data in a reduced windows running the line by hand gives the same result any idea? I can report to bugzilla, thanks jdd -- http://dodin.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I still dunno why it stopped working, but writing a bug report https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1169828 I found the fix: some nvidia driver was not removed completely when it should. Removing them restored the expected behavior. so far so good :-) thanks and sorry for the disturbance jdd
the script is:
xrandr --newmode "1920x1080_60.00" 173.00 1920 2048 2248 2576 1080 1083 1088 1120 -hsync +vsync xrandr --addmode VIRTUAL1 1920x1080_60.00 #xrandr --fb 1920x1080_60.00 --dpi 96 --output eDP-1 --pos 0x0 --scale-from 1920x1080 --same-as VIRTUAL1 xrandr --fb 1920x1080_60.00 --dpi 96 --output eDP1 --pos 0x0 --scale-from 1920x1080 --same-as VIRTUAL1
used to give me full HD 1920x10810 display on 1366x768 15.5" display.
Only the last line stopped working, letting me with my data in a reduced windows
running the line by hand gives the same result
any idea? I can report to bugzilla,
thanks jdd

don't connect just now :-(

the origin of the problem was "suse-prime". This package was not meanly uninstalled and could not be. So each update dumped again the nvidia requirements. I had to force reinstall suse-prime to, be able to remove it (and taboo it) for the record, I had to install it when I tried to make bumblebee work, what I couldn't achieve reliably and so abandoned jdd -- http://dodin.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Maybe you should say if this is TW or Leap. But I'm not familiar with xrand, sorry. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.1 x86_64 at Telcontar)

I said 15.1. but now solved, some nvidia driver where still presents, removing them solved the problem. No idea why is was so unexpected (I didn't change this recently) but now solved so not too important thanks jdd -- http://dodin.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Sorry, grep fails to find 15.1 in your first post :-? It is in your bugzilla.
