Well, as pointed out it looks like this is resolved. It was not immediately apparent (at least not to me) that a 'nomail' subscription was considered a separate list subscription instead of just an option on an existing one. I didn't contact the list owner because in my past experience with mailing lists (not this one specifically) responses are unlikely with anything short of a federal warrant - apparently not the case here.
