I'm running 7.3 and recently compiled a new kernel (2.4.19). Everything works fine except my PCMCIA startup script (the default SuSE /etc/rc.d/pcmcia). I get the following errors in dmesg: --cut-- Linux Kernel Card Services 3.1.22 options: [pci] [cardbus] [pm] PCI: Found IRQ 11 for device 00:04.0 PCI: Sharing IRQ 11 with 00:04.1 PCI: Sharing IRQ 11 with 01:00.0 PCI: Found IRQ 11 for device 00:04.1 PCI: Sharing IRQ 11 with 00:04.0 PCI: Sharing IRQ 11 with 01:00.0 Yenta IRQ list 0698, PCI irq11 Socket status: 30000006 Yenta IRQ list 0698, PCI irq11 Socket status: 30000010 --cut-- And while the startup script fails I can start the card from the command line once I've booted with the following commands: % insmod pcmcia_core Using /lib/modules/2.4.19/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/pcmcia_core.o % insmod yenta_socket Using /lib/modules/2.4.19/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/yenta_socket.o % insmod ds Using /lib/modules/2.4.19/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/ds.o % cardmgr cardmgr[916]: watching 2 sockets Not knowing a whole lot about modules I tried putting the above in my /etc/rc.d/pcmcia script but it reports errors that the modules are already present. /etc/rc.d/pcmcia never the less fails because cardmgr returns an error code after run. Any suggestions on how to make /etc/rc.d/pcmcia work? -j
