Problems getting bootp to work with SGI Indy
Hi, I'm having a problem getting my SGI indy to boot via network from my PC Linux box (Suse 8.1).Bootp gets requests and answers according to /var/log/messages: Feb 8 23:45:27 pandora bootpd[2561]: request from IP addr 192.168.1.20 Feb 8 23:45:27 pandora bootpd[2561]: found 192.168.1.20 (indy) Feb 8 23:45:27 pandora bootpd[2561]: requested path="/usr/src/IRIXCD1/stand" file="fx.ARCS" Feb 8 23:45:27 pandora bootpd[2561]: bootfile="/usr/src/IRIXCD1/stand/fx.ARCS" Feb 8 23:45:27 pandora bootpd[2561]: vendor magic field is 0.0.0.0 Feb 8 23:45:27 pandora bootpd[2561]: sending reply (with RFC1048 options) but the indy just seem to ignore the answers (after 4 trys the indy says it can't retrieve the bootfile: could not connect to server) I read in some other lists that in newer kernel versions (2.3 and higher) the path MTU discovery should be disabled (ip_no_pmtu_disc=1, did this in the /proc filesystem), but this had no effect at all. Does anybody has an idea what I'm doing wrong ??? Any help appreciated! Regards Oliver __________________________________________________________________ Gesendet von Yahoo!
