[opensuse] What's the reason that Windows games cannot be played in Linux?
What's the reason that all the Windows games cannot be played in Linux and especially the 3D ones...? -- Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that's creativity. --- Charles Mingus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Same reason you cannot play OSX games on Windows. The software.. games, office tools or whatever.. are written explicitly for Windows and its API. The API is nothing at all like the one Linux uses... or the one OSX uses.. or the one Solaris uses... or the one E-Station (formerly OS/2) uses. Also.. Windows is not Unix... and Unix is not Windows. They are not 1:1 compatible. Wine attempts to remap some of this stuff: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wine_(software) C. -- openSUSE 12.3 x86_64, KDE 4.11 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
