I like that! SCO had a pretty large following in Poland when I was working there. Right after the collapse of the Warsaw Pact and everything opened up, SCO simply said that anyone with a copy of SCO Unix/OpenServer would be considered legal. They knew they couldn't fight the illegal software, so this was a way to get at least some revenue from companies who wanted support or wanted to upgrade.
