Is the printed documentation that comes with 8.0 the same as that which comes with 7.3? In other words, if I have the 7.3 documentation already, will I gain anything by purchasing the full Pro 8.0 package, or will I be satisfied with the upgrade? Thanks. -Trent __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Tax Center - online filing with TurboTax http://taxes.yahoo.com/
It depends what you mean by `the same' - the manuals are updated with every release just as the software is. The new features in particular will be documented there. I know that a lot of work has been done, but I haven't yet seen the new manuals (that's not my job). On Tue, 9 Apr 2002, Trent Clifton wrote:

That's pretty much what I wanted to know. Thanks, Roger. -Trent __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Tax Center - online filing with TurboTax http://taxes.yahoo.com/

Isn't 8.0 ditching the rc.config thing in favour of something more compiant with the Linux Standard Base? Thus a lot of configging will have changed, and so documentation will be handy.... I guess. Gr. Hertog
It's also probably still true that the CDs will have PDFs of the documentation you would get in printed form with the Prof. version. It's always handy to be able to search for something with acroread. Jim On Tue, 9 Apr 2002, Roger Whittaker wrote:

They do. The manuals are also available on the ftp server. -- -ckm
