Modem connection speed
Hello All Is there anyway to improve the modem speed under 7.1. I hope its not my imagination but downloads are a heap quicker under 'doze than with my Linux box. This is particularly noticeable when downloading mail. Thanks and regards -- Mark Annandale SuSE 7.1 / 2.2.18 Kmail 1.1.19
When you configured your connection under Linux, what speed did you tell it your modem was? I think that by default it thinks it's 9600Baud, while most modern modems can be driven at up to 115200Baud. Change this in your configuration, then notice the difference. Any idea's why? I'm interested in the answer to this as well. I originally switched to SuSE because they had done the best job of making the keyboard consistent across all applications. Now, with 7.1, I'm finding some frustration that
