Hi all, How do I make "sing_dma=1" by default? It's aways put to "0" by defaults. Where I should insert the line " hdparm -d1 /dev/hda" at the boot time? Thanks

on my suse8.1-box i would add it to /etc/init.d/boot.local to have this command executed at every system-boot. hope it works on your box, too. good luck! Florian

Old versions of SuSE could set "using_dma=1" via the YaST2 module "System tuning". Newer versions (since 7.3?, kernel 2.4) turn IDE-DMA on by default. Search the SuSE Reference book for DEVICES_FORCE_IDE_DMA_ON=. -- Alexandr.Malusek@imv.liu.se
