******casting my electrons to the solar winds .... ****** I'm setting up a suse7.0 desktop for a user. HE needs wordperfect. I told the install program to install word perfect... But I can't find it on the drive .. ( find files is apparently still looking, ) I have also browsed thru most of the directories by eye, as it were, but haven't located it. ;\ suggestions ??? ( at this point dosnt' make sense to just "reinstall" if I dont even know were to look for it after is't installed. I thought It might be hiding somewhere , like gimp.. w/ a "needs to be installed" identty... I dunno, maybe I'm too blonde to be doing this stuff so early in the morning . <sigh> I usually dont DO mornings that start at this end of the day.. the ones that are at the END of the day seem to be much more useful <G> hrmmmm find files says no word perfect , so where would it go if it WAS on the drive??? TIA j afterthought: If this was funny it would be a tagline.

J, I went into YaST (not YaST2) and selected wordperfect I received a message saying be sure to read /usr/share/doc/packages/wordperf/README.SuSE This may explain things. WordPerfect is a sad story with respect to Linux. They make a good product, and they attempted something that was virtually impossible when they attempted to run it using wine. I hope they continue to support and create Linux releases. And also, I have 5 little girls in my family all of whom are one shade of blond or another - no not my children. I don't like dumb blond jokes. I go with what the Vikings though. Blond hair == wise mind. HTH, Steve
