Sound resets to zero after each song in Amarok
Hi After upgrading my system from 9.3 to 10.0 the sound is set to 0 in the PCM channel when trying to use Amarok. Even though I adjust the sound it resets to zero after each song. I thought the problem was with Kmix but its not a problem in Kaffeine. So I checked the sound engine in Amarok. Sure enough, after upgrading, Amarok has switched from the xine sound engine to helix. Changing it back to xine did the trick. Any one else experienced this? -- Regards Kenneth Aar

I have seen this as well, although it is not consistant. Volume was fine with my on-board card, but that card was unstable (AmaroK would crash frequently). I switched to a USB audio card which is more stable, but it exhibits the volume change problem with the helix engine. I love AmaroK, and use it all the time at home on my custom box. I think it is one of the best audio apps I have every used on any platform. On my work computer (Dell Presision 530), however, it is just too unstable. I have ended up reverting back to XMMS. Kirk
