[opensuse] thunderbird 8 in 11.4, plain text email Print in negative???
Guys, In tbird 8 in 11.4 when I attempt to print plain text emails to my laserjet 4100n, the emails print with black background and white text (in negative). This kills toner cartridges. I do have a dark theme in kde3, and a dark gtk theme, but that should never cause tbird to print plain text as white on a black background... Is there a setting I can tweak to fix this?? Thanks. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

What is the following set to: Preference-->Display-->Formatting(tab)-->Colors -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Text Color: whiteish... (#CCCCCC) [browser.display.foreground_color] Background Color: Dark Bluish/Greyish... (#090D14) [browser.display.background_color] Oh No, tbird isn't sending the "Display" colors to the printer is it?? That would be very bad.... There seem to be other print options set by default and for this specific printer. e.g.: print.tmp.printerfeatures.dcr4100n.can_change_colorspace "false" print.tmp.printerfeatures.dcr4100n.can_change_printincolor "true" print.tmp.printerfeatures.dcr4100n.colorspace.0.name "default" print.tmp.printerfeatures.dcr4100n.colorspace.count "1" print.tmp.printerfeatures.dcr4100n.supports_colorspace_change "false" print.tmp.printerfeatures.dcr4100n.supports_printincolor_change "true" <snip> printer_dcr4100n.print_bgcolor "false" printer_dcr4100n.print_colorspace "true" printer_dcr4100n.print_in_color "true" Egads! WTF .print_in_color?? there is no way to set this in the driver dialog. I wonder where tbird gets this info? Wolfgang, got any ideas?? -- David C. Setting: printer_dcr4100n.print_in_color "false" makes no difference, I still get pages with $10 worth of toner background and white text. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

can't you check print preview and then submit the print request. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/printprint-preview/ https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox:Printing_and_Page_Setup -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I had links for firefox, donot have much knowledge of thunderbird, please check the links given below.

By the way, These setting were required to have the html formatted mails display correctly with the dark theme. Still, it should not affect the "print" color of plain text messages -- or html messages for that matter on a Black & White laserjet. Does anybody know if this is a print driver (gutenprint/foomatic) issue or is this a mozilla issue? I need to know where the bug goes... -- David C.
