losing mouse and keyboard
My first attempt at installing Suse ends up with no kb and no mouse. I have Suse 7.0 Pro. The yast2 installation moves along and the correct video card is recognized - Diamond Stealth 3D 4000. When I go to "test", clicking on any of the arrows freezes both the keyboard and the mouse. If I accept the test without the needed correction I go the login window and crash there. The only thing unusual that I can see is a recognition of a USB port and "starting USB service. USB_HCI failed. No IRQ . Try enabling USB IRQ in Bios". There is nothing connected to the USB connectors. But when I enable the USB IRQ in BIOS I make a little progress . I login in to the nice KDE desktop and can open applications. But a few clicks and I lose kb and mouse. One time I was able to get kmail going and pick up my mail before things froze. I am completely stuck and sure would appreciate some help. Jack
What kind of mouse? What kind of keyboard? What kind of connections/ports? It is easyer to get help if you describe the hardware. If you haven't got anything on a USB port then you shouldn't have to worry about some messages on it during bootup. Cheers, ei On Wednesday 31 January 2001 01:24, Jack Reilly wrote:
