Hello.
Thanks for your help answering my last mail. I' ve replied but none seems
to read my mail. Please, if you can, help me.
-------------
I' ve found that I don' t have "nslookup" command (bash: command not found)
and it' s true!! Which packet does it belong to?
-------------
I' ve configured Linux to access Internet through a modem and ppp
connection but when I fire up the connection I get this in /var/log/messages:

A few quick guesses: - could it be, that irq12 is used by some other device like an onboard mouse (some systems use irq12 for that) I tried, from Dos, to run "msd" but nothing seems wrong: apparently, the Ethernet card is the only device using Irq 12.
- did you recompile or use a modul for eth0? if have a look at /etc/conf.modules, search for ne2000 and correct io-adress and irq. I have gotten mad with that one. I didn' t recompile yet... as I' m not so skilled, I prefer not to risk. The strange fact is that, during installation, it was recognized but then not! /etc/conf.modules is already ok: all options are set correctly. I' ve tried to insert some parameters to Lilo (append, etc. etc.) but it still does not work.
------------- Suse uses my HP Deskjet 850C printer via "hpdj" driver (found in Yast printer setup) but I' m unable to make it printing colors: black and white only. :(((( What am I doing wrong? Any ideas??
------------- As window manager, I use FVWM95 in 640X480 (my old monitor does not allow higher resolutions) and there is a button bar on the top of the screen (FvwmBanner? FvwmButtons?) that exceed screen lenght, hiding a lot of buttons. I would like to resize it removing some of them (for example Xeyes and one of the clocks) and resize the Pager from 6 screens to 4. I succeded doing the last thing by editing .fvwm95rc but the size of the pager is unchanged: now I have 4 stretched rectangles! What can I do? The buttons on the top is FvwmButtons. For the most part, it dynamicly allocates sizes and you have to do little tricks to get it to a different size. Try reading the man page `man FvwmButtons` for an idea on how to do it. I don't remember off the top of my head. Thanks. Now it looks better but at any new installation with Yast, the configuration is switched back to the old one and I have to edit .fvwm95rc again to restore my settings: how do I tell Yast to use my configuration as default?
Thanks for your patience. :) Bye. -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
