www.amazon.co.uk Click on the "software" tab then Click on the "Linux" link in the menu bar. Right now they have SuSE 7.0 featured right on the front page of the software section. If all else fails use the search (duh :-) ). You are going to wait for 7.1 to be out aren't you? ;-) Here's the direct link to the SuSE 7.0 Professional page: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00004Y5AD/202-9812414-4119030 It only cost me $75.00 USD, which is less then some places here in the US were charging for it. There was no question or extra charge to ship it to me here in Texas. At 04:15 PM 1/27/2001 -0800, you wrote:

Just an FYI to everyone. I wouldn't bother ordering anything from out of country. SuSE 7.1 will not have different versions this time. All the crypto software is included. So whatever country you are in ..you get the full deal with no downloads..I am not saying we are shipping every single crypto package under the sun..but things like openssl and openssh will be included. I haven't had time to look at the other stuff yet. I am busy fighting with CUPS under 7.1 .. it don't likey my HP 600. :( *grin*...hope this news brightens the weekends of at least a few of you. * Jonathan Wilson (wilson@claborn.net) [010127 17:03]: =>www.amazon.co.uk =>Click on the "software" tab then Click on the "Linux" link in the menu bar. I wouldn't have thought there would be anyone within SuSE working on an 'official' thin version, but I can say that I'm running on a *relatively* thin version of SuSE. This is for my server box and does, DNS, mail, DHCP, NTP, diald, firewalling, printing, etc. and fits in about 150MB. That's without making any effort to cut away excess baggage like 15MB of locale files, 5MB of timezone files, 4MB of vim files, etc., etc. If I really made an effort it could be significantly reduced (especially by throwing away the printing stuff). I have another SuSE installation running in about 80MB, but I don't have access to that box just now. Sorry for that, Ben. As you mentioned openssh here, let me draw your attention that ssh-keygen is half-broken in 2.3.0.p1. It doesn't show fingerprints of dsa keys. One may say it's not big deal. But how can I make sure that I am logging to the real server for the first time when it shows its key fingerprint and I am not able to compare it? The bug was in 2.2.0 and wasn't fixed in 2.3.0p1. :-(
*grin*...hope this news brightens the weekends of at least a few of you.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to upgrade my 6.4 to 7.1. -Kastus
This "bug" is also in OpenSSH 2.1.1. Maybe it is a feature. Jeffrey Quoting Konstantin (Kastus) Shchuka <kastus@tsoft.com>:

Then it's rather dangerous feature. Given the existence of this MITM "tool" it's a straigtforward road to security compromise. -Kastus

Well, you can install the 1.X.X version of ssh which also ships with 7.1 and I am sure that if there are issues with OpenSSH then there will either be an update of some kind or whoever packaged the source for it hacked a fix into it. I use ssh-2.4.X because it's free for non-commercial use. As far as business's are concerned I don't have an answer for that one. * Konstantin (Kastus) Shchuka (kastus@tsoft.com) [010128 16:19]: =>> =>Sorry for that, Ben.
