Dear all, a recent "zypper dup" on tumbleweed resulted in a prompt to confirm that thunderbird would be removed from the system. But I need thunderbird. Is this an error or is thunderbird replaced by some other package I didn't see? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I would ask if you had elmira installed but it probably would not help to know what you are looking at that no one else can see as you have given three pieces of information about your system and nothing else, tw, tb and zypper. Tb itself may have been replaced by a newer version as "removed" in this case does not mean that your system will no longer have tb. Why don't you run the following and report the results and a better determination of your situation may be determined. zypper -vv dup Report everything related to thunderbird. It may even make better sense to you and you will not need further help. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I see this all the time, not on thunderbird, but on misc packages. I think it is caused by allowing vender changes, and as one leapfrogs the others, it tries to switch repositories, and it uninstalls the old one to reinstall the new one from a different repository. But, regardless of that, the will be uninstalled message, while true, does not reflect the fact that a new Tbird package will be installed, subsequent to the removal, and none of your settings or data will be lost. -- After all is said and done, more is said than done. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
