[opensuse] disable KDE4 "new acticvity" button
Hello: I would like to remove the button saying "New Activity" (cashew?) from my desktop's top right corner. I know that I can remove it by disabling 3 files in /usr/share/kde4/services: plasma-toolbox-desktoptoolbox.desktop, plasma-toolbox-nettoolbox.desktop, plasma-toolbox-paneltoolbox.desktop. But this applies to all users who use KDE4. I would like to remove it specifically from one users desktop. How can I do it? Thanks, Istvan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

You could copy those files to ~/.kde4/share/kde4/services/ (create the folder if it doesn't exist), and add "Hidden=true" to the copies. That should disable them for the current user only. Or you could just drag and move the cashew/toolbox icon below the panel... ;) Kind Regards, Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
PS: you could also try this: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=108460 You should find it in "Add Widgets..."->"Get New Widgets"->"Download new widgets" (search for "cashew"). If you install it there, you need to manually install ruby-kde4 as well though. openSUSE packages are available here: http://software.opensuse.org/search?baseproject=openSUSE%3A13.2&p=1&q=cashew Add it to the desktop and it lets you change the transparency of the toolbox icon. Set it to full transparency and it will be invisible. It's still functional even then though, so clicking in the top-right corner will still open the plasma menu. There's also the older "I hate the cashew" plasmoid, but I don't know whether this still works.
