As root? I just did mine, and found it could not work with the gcc 2.9.5 version of java (j2sdk 1.4.1). Then I tried the gcc 3.2 Blackdown Java, and it worked great. It would appear this Netscape is gcc 3 compiled.

I think you are going to have problems. IIAC, that it is gcc 3 compiled, it may not work well with anything but the gcc 3.2 complied Blackdown.
